Sweet & salty nuts

This is one of my favorite nut recipes.  I give this treat to family, friends, and neighbors.  The original recipe calls for corn syrup, so I easily substituted organic raw honey.  You can also use maple syrup. I still consider this to be a treat and be careful not to eat the whole batch!

Ingredients:

1/4 c honey

1 c raw organic almonds

1 c raw organic pecans

1 c raw organic walnuts

1/2 c raw pepitas (pumpkin seeds shelled)

2  tbsp pepper (freshly ground is best)

2 to 3 tsp sea salt (you might want to use less or more to taste)

OPTIONAL ADD:

1/2 c coconut flakes

ALSO

You can experiment with different kinds of nuts and dried cranberries, blueberries, and goji berries, etc. Try using just almonds and pecans with dried berries etc.

Preheat oven 350 degrees

Pour all your nuts, pepper, and salt into a bowl.  Pour your honey over the nuts and stir to coat. Add more honey if nuts are not completely coated. Prepare a cookie sheet with a SILPAT OR parchment. If you eat butter by all means grease the pan with butter!  Cook until golden brown around 20 minutes. Let cool and break apart and serve. Store in a air tight container or freezer bag.
